Get a complete practice in this special 90-minute class, with expert Ashtanga and Iyengar teacher Su Pickell! Stretch & Strengthen focuses on fundamental poses and preparing participants’ bodies for more advanced practice. Using props and optional hands-on adjustments, you'll have the opportunity to achieve better posture, correct the alignment of your hands and feet, and reduce the risk of injury during more challenging asana (postures).

The class will begin with a focus on stretching to prepare the participants’ bodies for deeper work. We will then transition into a flow, moving through sequences step by step. Each week will cover a different topic, starting with standing poses, followed by seated poses, twists, chest openings, and backbends.

All are welcome, no previous experience required—just an open heart and a willingness to explore the depths of your being. Please note that while Su is trained to teach in a trauma-informed way, Stretch & Strengthen is a class that draws from the Ashtanga and Iyengar lineages, which emphasize alignment and hands-on adjustments. If you are sensitive to a teacher encouraging you to push yourself physically or offering hands-on adjustments to your postures, you may prefer a different class.
