Teaching With Care: 1-Day Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training
with Leslie Wilkin, MSW RSW RCC
Saturday, September 12 | 11:00am–5:00pm
(30-minute break included)

This foundational training is designed for yoga teachers who want to create safer, more inclusive, and more supportive class environments for all students — without needing to know anyone’s specific trauma history or lived experience. Together, we’ll explore practical trauma-informed approaches to teaching that help foster choice, agency, accessibility, nervous system awareness, and a greater sense of safety and belonging within yoga spaces.

Led by yoga educator Leslie Wilkin (she/her), this training will offer tools and perspectives that can be integrated into a wide range of teaching styles and class settings. Topics will include language and cueing, classroom environment, power dynamics, consent and touch, regulation and grounding practices, and ways to support students with compassion and care while staying within the scope of a yoga teacher’s role. Research and current trauma-informed yoga frameworks emphasize creating environments that prioritize safety, empowerment, and self-regulation.

This training is open to all yoga teachers and trainees interested in deepening their teaching practice through a trauma-informed lens.
