Queer Care Yoga w/ Summer (she/they)
MON JUN 1, 7 - 8:15 PM PDT

Summer A.H. Christiansen will be guiding Queer Care, a monthly trauma-informed yoga practice for self-identified Queer & Trans folks looking to find community and connection. This class will incorporate gentle movement, breath skills, guided meditation, and the invitation to create a container of queer joy in community.

Summer (she/they) is a queer and neurodivergent writer, mother, and educator. She grew up all over Alaska and has recently moved to Vancouver Island. Summer’s personal yoga practice has helped her get out of her head and into her body - as someone who struggles with chronic illness and pain, they found comfort and relief on their yoga mat.

Summer intends that their classes provide an opportunity to be embodied in a trauma-informed and queer-friendly space where choice is not just allowed, but welcomed. Helping students to better understand what feels good for them is their most important goal as a yoga instructor.

All bodies, sizes, and abilities are welcome to Queer Care, and no experience is necessary!

We are committed to providing equitable access to yoga. As such, all practitioners who identify as Queer and/or Trans are welcome to pay our Community Rate when dropping in ($12), purchasing a 10-class pass ($119), or starting a membership (see our membership page for more information about options & pricing). The option to pay what you can or access a free class is also always available by filling out our pay what you can form; we have also provided the option with this class to simply "choose your amount" (including $0) when signing up.
